Angela Martignetti was a Slayer active in Italy and Greece around the year 1872.[1]

Biography

Angela had Peter Toscano as her Watcher, with whom she fell and love and had a relationship. For fear of punishment from the Watchers Council, they tried to keep this a secret, but found it difficult to be hidden.[1]

By 1872, while slaying vampires and demons, they had also been tracking the vampire Veronique for almost an year, who had not only killed Angela's cousin Lucia, but taken her body to continue her immortality. Peter had secretly loved Lucia first, but he hoped he'd eventually love Angela like she deserved. After discovering Veronique's plan to bring the Triumvirate to Earth, Angela managed to narrowly avert the plan by staking the Old One's vampire vessel, banishing it back to its own dimension.[1]

Peter eventually died in a fire, Angela hunted Veronique through Eastern Europe. Each time she found the vampire, Veronique managed to survive by taking a new host. Angela then succeeded in locking Veronique on the island of Kefi, where the vampire would stay for more than 100 years.[1]

After four months on the island, Angela was found by the Watchers Council and introduced to her new Watcher, Jason Cromwell. Though initially hostile towards her, his attitude changed greatly over time, but Angela never made an effort to aid the Council again. Angela had planned to die on Kefi and, for many years after, she wished that she had.[1]

Personality

According to Peter, Angela's flaws included a "terrible" temper, an addiction to absinthe, and "a tendency toward the voluptuous." He also considered her more likely to be a man's mistress than "his Madonna-like wife," at least in comparison with Lucia.[1]
