The 314 Project was code for the secret goal of the Initiative: to build a creature that combined the superior strength of demons, the advancement of technology, and the intelligence and adaptability of humans into one being.[1] The name was based on the number of the room[2] where Maggie Walsh and Francis Angleman created the prototype for the 314 Project, a bio-mechanical demonoid named Adam.[3]
When Adam awakened, he sought to bring about the final stage of the project, just like Walsh had envisioned: lock every soldier in the Initiative facilities and release all captured demons so that they would kill each other, thus providing a supply of body parts enough to create an army. He successfully rebuilt the soldier Forrest Gates, whose body was restored with demon and computer parts after his death. However, the Scooby Gang defeated Adam before he could conclude his plan, and the United States Government deemed the Initiative project a failure.[4]
