Rupert was a weekly title launched by Marvel UK on 20th October 1982, and ran for 100 issues until 15th September 1984. A 20 page title priced at 20p, it carried strips starring the legendary childrens character Rupert the Bear, plus various other strips aimed at the nursery market, including comic adaptations of classic fairy tales, Noddy, and other characters such as The Jolly Dogs, The Little Prince, Grandma Next door and Puppy Dog Tales. None of the material used in the title was Marvel originated, but seems to have been licensed from a variety of sources; the Rupert strips are clearly Alfred Bestall originals and some of the other material seems to have originated in Pippin & Playland.
