BOYNEXTDOOR (보이넥스트도어 boinegseuteudo-eo), shortened as BONEDO (보넥도) or BND, is a six-member South Korean boy group under KOZ Entertainment. They made their debut on May 30, 2023, with their single album WHO!.
Identity
Name
The group name "BOYNEXTDOOR" means they will approach casually and comfortably, just like the meaning of "boys next door". The group would like to express everyday stories their peers can relate to in honest music to build consensus with listeners.[1]

Career
2022-2023: Pre-debut
On January 3, 2022, KOZ announced they were holding auditions for their new boy group on HYBE Label's YouTube channel.[3]
On June 15, 2022, KOZ launched a teen rapper audition called 'KOZ Teen Rapper Audition: U18 in the Zungle' hoping to discover members of their upcoming boy group. It was also revealed the group would be making their debut in 2023.[4]
On August 4, 2022, Zico guested on SBS Power FM's Two O'Clock Escape Cultwo Show and revealed that the agency's upcoming boy group would not be hip-hop as they want to create a group that isn't limited to a specific genre.[5]
On February 28, 2023, news outlet SPOTV News reported that the group would be making their debut in May. KOZ Entertainment announced that the exact date is yet to be confirmed although they are expected to debut in the first half of the year.[6][7]
2023: Debut with 1st single album, 1st mini album
On April 3, KOZ Entertainment started a 56-day countdown through their official website.[8][9] On April 4, KOZ confirmed that their new boy group would be preparing to debut on May 30, 2023.[10]
On April 17, the group's logo motion was released through the HYBE Labels YouTube channel, revealing that its name would be BOYNEXTDOOR.[11] On the same day, the group's social networks were opened.[12] Hours later it was confirmed that the group would have six members.[13] On May 1, KOZ Entertainment started the countdown for the group's debut.[14]
On May 3, it was announced that the group would debut with their first single album titled "WHO!".[15] On May 5, the names of the six members of the group were revealed through their social networks.[16]
On July 13, KOZ Entertainment confirmed that BOYNEXTDOOR is preparing for their first-ever comeback, aiming for a September release.[17] On August 7, it was announced that they will be releasing their first EP titled WHY.. on September 4.[18]
2024: HOW?, "AND,", Leehan's hiatus, 19.99, First Asia Tour
On February 13, 2024, KOZ Entertainment announced that the group is in the final stage of preparations for an April comeback.[19] On March 18, the group released a trailer for their second EP HOW? which will be released on April 15.[20]
On May 6, the group announced their plans to make their Japanese debut with their first single, "AND,", set for release on July 10.[21] "Earth, Wind & Fire (Japanese ver.)" was pre-released on June 20.[22]
On July 16, KOZ Entertainment released a statement which revealed that group member Leehan had recently developed skin inflammation, and would temporarily halt all group and individual activities to receive sufficient rest and treatment.[23]
On July 24, it was reported that BOYNEXTDOOR is currently in the final stages of the production process for their new album scheduled for September.[24] On August 12, the group released an album trailer for their third EP 19.99, which will be released on September 9.[25]
On September 23, BOYNEXTDOOR unveiled a poster announcing their 2024-2025 'KNOCK ON Vol. 1' tour, which would include 13 dates across Asia (including six in Japan): South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Manila, Bangkok, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Jakarta. The first performance will be held in Incheon on December 14 and 15, followed by further events in the locations mentioned above the following year. The Asia tour will come to an end in Jakarta on April 12.[26]
2025: 오늘만 I Love You, upcoming release
During the second KNOCK ON Vol. 1 tour show in Seoul, BOYNEXTDOOR announced that they will be making their comeback in January 2025.[27] On December 16, 2024, they announced the digital single "오늘만 I Love You", scheduled for January 6, 2025. [28]
On March 20, KOZ Entertainment confirmed that BOYNEXTDOOR is currently working on new music aiming for a May comeback.[29]
