Book (ひでんのしょ, Hiden no Sho?, lit. "Book of Secrets") is a key item in Breath of Fire. The secret techniques of the great thief are recorded in this Book. It's the most desirable item by Karn. The Book can be found on the last level of underground Krypt where it is hidden in one of the eight caskets; to note, it is not actually a bound paper book, but a message hidden within the casket proclaiming that anyone capable of getting past the locks and traps to read the message is just as great a thief as the one who created Krypt. Karn is exhilarated by this message, and his newfound confidence enables him to learn Fusion techniques.
