Bait are items used in fishing to catch fish and possibly other items. Each Bait is different and catches certain fish that other bait can't or more.

Appearance in Breath of Fire II

The following baits appear in Breath of Fire II, and the fish that are attracted to them.

• Worm = Srdine, Unagi, Bait, Makrl, Tsr.Box

• Urchin = Minnow, Tuna, PileWorm, Tsr.Box

• Shrimp = Snapper, Tsr.Box

• Gold = Manillo, Tsr.Box

• G8Bait = Srdine, Unagi, Bait, Makrl, Minnow, Tuna, Snapper, PileWorm (All attracted as soon as this hits the water).

Breath of Fire III Baits/Lures

Baits are categorized with L# for bait level rank, can be found in Item Shops, on battlefields, or as drops/steals from enemies; all lures have been put into their selections by in-game visual looks in order to be more accurate to the grouping of each class of lure, each region's Manillo Shop will have the next level lure/bait than can be purchased by the nearest regional Item Shop; All Top Level lures/Baits can only be purchased from Manillo Shops with the Barter there, a.so every region will generally have those lures/baits that can be purchased there as possible drops on world map battlefields

A) Worms

• Worm (pink) - L1 -- good for deep-water fish -- Shops: McNeil Village, Wyndia, Coffee Shop
• Spirit (white) - L2 -- Lure with leaden sinker -- Shops: Rhapala, Urkahan Tapa, Syn City, Cliff, McNeil Manillo Shop, Tower Manillo Shop; items
• Caro (green) - L3 -- Fast lead sinker with worm -- Shops: Parch, Kombinat, Dauna Region Manillo Shop, Urkhan Tapa Manillo Shop; items
• Heavy Caro - Top level -- Large weighted lure -- Steel Beach Manillo Shop
