Trivia
- Sock Puppet joins in on the Mailtime segment and the Skidoo segment.
- This is the last episode Steve filmed before leaving the show.
- Despite that, The Big Book About Us and The Boat Float, which were Joe episodes instead of Steve episodes, were produced before this episode.
- When this episode was rerun on the Nick Jr. Channel until 2019, it was placed a few days after Steve Goes to College. Preschoolers may recognize that Steve didn't leave after all and will get too excited, and will be sad when they don't see him again.
- Streaming services, such as iTunes and Amazon Prime, list this episode after The Big Book About Us, Joe and Tell, Joe Gets a Clue, and Steve Goes to College, as well as The Boat Float, which is a Joe only episode.
- It's likely this episode was accidently swapped with The Big Book About Us as a similar situation happened to that episode but in reverse.
- This is most likely due to the streaming services using the production order.
- In the Dish Network version of this episode, Donovan Patton (Joe) is accidentally credited in the cast.
- This episode is the second of two bonus episodes available on the DVD "Classic Clues" on January 27, 2004, with Rhyme Time.
- Jennifer Twomey is the writer in this episode and credited as Jennifer Twomey Perello.
- In the Mailtime Segment, Sock Puppet wails the end of the mail song, and says that he's always wanted to do that. Mailbox has a mailman puppet which he uses to hand over the letter.
- During The So Long Song, Sock Puppet says "You sure are smart" instead of Steve.
- The same thing happened in Imagine Nation where Mr. Salt said it instead of Steve. The same thing also happened in Blue Takes You to School where Periwinkle said it instead of Joe.
- This was the second time to use the "A Clue, A Clue" line from Blue's Play.
- This was the third and last time to use the "Notebook" line from Hide and Seek.
- This is the sixth and last time to use the "A Clue" line from Blue's Sad Day.
- This was the second time to use the "Thinking Chair" line from Art Appreciation.
- This is the last time Steve was at the right side at the end of Mailtime.
- Going by production order, this is the last episode with Steve as the host. It was produced after “Steve Goes to College”, which is his final episode as the host chronologically.
- In the nursery rhyme book, Jack was a clue, but Jill was not.
- Although this episode was produced in Season 4, it aired in November 2003 while episodes from the Joe era were still going. It is currently unknown why they aired this episode late.
- Blue is hiding behind her ball, rather than behind the flowers in the intro.
- This is the episode where Jack and the Beanstalk happens at the end, but only as Sock and the Beanstalk when it changes to that. As Jack and the Beanstalk, the first time this happened was in What Story Does Blue Want to Play?, when Jack goes home and Steve tells him to be careful up there. The second time this happened was in Blue's Big Treasure Hunt, taking place in the Land of Great Discovery when the giant wasn't around. This will happen again later in The Fairy Tale Ball starring Joe, but whenever the giant says something, Joe and the other fairy tale characters will shout, "Hooray!" near the end when they make it in time.
- This is the only Steve era episode to be released onto VideoNow Jr.
- This is the third episode where Jack and Jill happens, but only in a book. The first time this happened was in Blue's Story Time played by Shovel and Blue. The second time this happened was in Blue's Big Treasure Hunt in the Land of Great Discovery where Jack was alone as Jack Be Nimble when Jill wasn't around.
- At the end of the episode, Jack and the Beanstalk is changed to "Sock and the Beanstalk".
- In this episode, Sock Puppet does the honors in answering the door for Steve.
- When the kids say, "Bye, Steve!" at the end of the letter, Sock Puppet refers to Steve's way of saying "Bye!" as "Buh bye!".
- In this episode, the third clue is the answer to Blue's Clues in Adventure.
Credits
- Storybook appears for the only time, Blue uses her paw as a puppet, Slippery Soap and Tickety Tock made bag puppets, and Mailbox made a postman puppet in his flag.
