Red Hot Rangs, formerly known as Thermite and previously formatted as Red Hot 'Rangs, is an upgrade for the Boomerang Monkey (formerly Boomerang and Boomerang Thrower), first released in Bloons Tower Defense 3. It allows the Boomerang Monkey to pop Frozen Bloons and Lead Bloons. In BTD6 Generation games, it also increases the Boomerang Monkey's damage. The upgrade differs across generations due to a name change, but the concept remains similar. It does not have a counterpart in BTD4, though the Lightsabre Thrower upgrade in that game grants the ability to pop Lead and Frozen instead.
