Unofficial Name The term "Crosspath Hybrid" is only a conjectural term coined by fans and has not been confirmed by official sources (e.g. in-game, Ninja Kiwi blog). |
In the Bloons TD Series, towers can be upgraded for stronger and/or additional attacks. Starting from Bloons TD 5, most playable towers does not have complete access to all upgrades that they have for balance and strategical reasons. This is becuase towers now can only access 1 full path and be locked partway through another path. In Bloons TD 6, this is taken a step further with the path the player didn't choose being entirely locked out. However, there are rare cases in which these rules can be broken.
What are Crosspaths anyway?
What defines a Crosspath Hybrid?
Crosspath hybrids are defined by either if the game allows you to break these rules (i.e. Wizard Lord), if the game tells you that it is (i.e Paragon's Victory Card), or if Ninja Kiwi confirms it (i.e. Version 34.0 Balance Change for Archmage).
Generally speaking, Crosspath Hybrids involes all the paths of that tower in some way and are usually upgraded to the third tier or above.
Examples of Crosspath Hybrids

- Wizard Lord (4-4)
