Gunn Sar was the leader of the Hommiks on Xenon, having gained power by killing his predecessor Maravik in ritual combat. In total, he had defeated twenty-six challengers, with twenty-five listed as dead and the other, Marquin, officially missing after falling off a bottomless cliff. He had taken Nina, the former Seska leader, as his wife. Although a capable leader, he had difficulty remembering the words of official declarations and was unaware of Cato's use of computer surveillance, believing there were lookouts and runners.
He met Avon after he was captured on his land looking for dynamon crystals and told him they had all been mined. Avon stopped him from striking Nina and challenged him to combat. Gunn Sar attacked Avon with a sword, which Avon severed by removing a power rod from a junction box. Avon was knocked unconscious by another Hommik and Gunn Sar ordered him returned to his cell.
Nina reported that Avon and Pella had escaped, after Gunn Sar had Luxia's crystal removed. Soon after, Vila, Tarrant and Dayna were also brought in as prisoners and Dayna challenged Gunn Sar. As the two of them fought, Pella and Kate used their telekinesis to help Dayna throw Gunn Sar away from her, causing him to suffer a fatal blow to the head. (D: Power)
