Tome is one of only two substantial towns in Tally, the most easterly province of the Lady's Empire, appearing briefly in Shadows Linger. It is at least 2,000 miles east of the Tower at Charm, the customary demarcation point between east and west. The Black Company departed Tome and reached the huge city of Frost to the west after a grueling 146-day march.
Shadows Linger
The Black Company garrisoned at Tome briefly after they ambushed Rebels at Madle's tavern in Tally's countryside. Croaker considered Tome to be small, dirty, and boring.
The presence of the whole Company, several hundred men, put significant strain on Tome's resources, so the Captain was prepared to move some men to Heart and into the surrounding villages. However before they could do so, they were summoned back west by the Lady when she directly contacted Goblin via the mental sorcery link between the two. As instructed, the Company left Tome and made a difficult 146-day march to the huge city of Frost across formidable mountains, deserts, and rivers.
