Papa was a mysterious and highly-skilled necromancer who lived at the time of the Domination and its fall. His true name or preferred alias are both unknown, as he never identifies himself; both Laissa and her sister "Kitten" (likely the Lady) simply refer to him as Papa. He was the father of Precious Pearl.
At some point in his life, Papa fell in love with a woman named Laissa who died, and made it his life's mission to discover the means to restore the dead to life. He established his laboratory in a house in the countryside outside Dusk, the Domination's capital, despite the laws of the Domination forbidding the use of sorcery, especially necromancy, on pain of death or worse. Although his magnitude is not clearly defined, Papa was extremely skilled at spell weaving, and layered his house with countless subtle defensive spells that ensnared the Howler and almost got the better of the Dominator.
