Ralph was engaged to Ebenezer Blackadder's goddaughter, Millicent. Ralph first met Blackadder, after the latter deciding to stop being so nice to everyone. Blackadder tricked him into taking out his wallet, the contents of which Blackadder put in his own pocket and threw them out. It is unknown if he and Millicent did ultimately get married or not.
