Amaya was a Ga-Matoran native to Metru Nui.

Biography

Metru Nui

Amaya was a teacher on Metru Nui before the Great Cataclysm. One of her students was Vhisola. Toa Metru Nokama came to ask her about Vhisola when she searched for the missing Matoran. Amaya helped her as much as she could.

Later Amaya was summoned to the Coliseum with the rest of the Matoran. There she was placed into a Matoran Sphere. The sphere was taken to Mata Nui by the Toa Metru, along with the rest of the spheres. On Mata Nui, the Toa Metru sacrificed their powers to awake Amaya and the other Matoran. Gradually Amaya lost her memory about Metru Nui and became weaker and shorter.

Mata Nui

During the Great War, at some point, she tried a new ship with Macku, Marka, Kai and some other Matoran. They were attacked by a tentacled creature which took Marka beneath the waves. Amaya dived after her and managed to rescue Marka with her friends. They took Marka back to the boat, only to notice that she didn't have her Hau, and that the Rahi headed for Ga-Koro. The group quickly followed it and saw how it fought against the village. Amaya got an idea and tackled the creature into Rope. Amaya passed out for being so long underwater but Macku saved her and told later that she had become a hero.

Amaya guarded the gate to Ga-Koro during the events of Battle of Kini-Nui with Shasa.

After the Bohrok-Kal Attack, Amaya was summoned to the Kini-Nui with the other Matoran of Mata Nui, where she was shown the rebuilt Takua and Jaller. Amaya was rebuilt herself too, into a taller, stronger form by the Turaga, along with the rest of the Matoran.

Amaya worked as a Flax Maker with Hahli. She was annoyed by the recklessness of Hahli.

Return to Metru Nui

Amaya has since returned to Metru Nui with the other Matoran, Toa Nuva and Turaga. She helped to rebuild the city until it was fully repaired by the Staff of Artakha. Later Amaya took part in the ceremony at Coliseum, held for Matoro.

Spherus Magna

Amaya later evacuated the Matoran Universe after the death of Makuta Teridax onto Spherus Magna with the other Ga-Matoran. She later settled down with the Water Tribe in a village in the Great Sea.

Powers and Tools

Amaya, like all other Ga-Matoran, had inaccessible water-based abilities, which manifested themselves in the form of increased lung capacity and greater underwater agility.
