Tom Hardy portrays Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. A few years later he entered final negotiations to star as Rick Flag in Suicide Squad, but later backed out. Hardy's publicist issued a statement claiming that it would create a "scheduling conflict" with prior commitments made by his client. Joel Kinnaman was chosen as his replacement.
