Career

Barney & Friends

In 1995, Jim Rowley, Executive Producer of Barney & Friends, called Holmes to see if he could direct a few Barney & Friends episodes and videos. Rowley loaned Holmes a few videos to watch, and he eventually accepted a position as a director. Prior, Holmes was a director for Wishbone, a series owned by the same company as Barney & Friends. [1] Holmes would later write episodes for the series, and is the only person to ever write and direct the same episode. He did it six times.

Achievements

Barney & Friends

Holmes was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1999 in the category of "Outstanding Directing in a Children's Series" in honor of his work for Barney & Friends alongside Steven Feldman and Jim Rowley. Holmes (alongside Rowley) was nominated again in honor of Barney & Friends in the same category in 2006.
