Ayasa (also sometimes spelled あやさ), was born on October 19, 1991 in Tokyo, Japan. She voices Yashio Rui, and is Morfonica's violinist as well. She is currently a freelancer, while her solo activities are signed under the JUGGLER music agency. Her real name is Shimamura Ayasa (島村 絢沙).
Background
Rui is Ayasa's first voice acting role. She began playing the violin at the age of three, taking children's music classes under Toho Gakuen before joining the music department at Toho Girls' Senior High School. In her student days, she was a soloist for the St. Petersburg Festival Orchestra conducted by Andrei Anikhanov.
She has appeared in various TV commercials and popular variety shows, and played the violin for popular artists and singers as well ever since 2015.
In 2016, as an addition to her solo activities, she was a member of the unit "DECAYS" together with DIR EN GREY's Die and the ex-band MOON CHILD's Kei Kashiyama.
Prior to joining the BanG Dream! franchise, she had also made a few covers (namely LOUDER's) on her YouTube channel, where she also posts other anime song covers while cosplaying the characters from the shows.
On September 11, 2021, after appearing as a special guest during Live Crew 2021 (ライブクルー2021), it was announced that Ayasa has become affiliated with Ace Crew Entertainment.[1] On May 31, 2022, Ayasa announced that her contract was terminated and as a result she has become a freelancer.[2]
So far she has released eight mini albums, and one full album.
Personality & Hobbies
Ayasa likes anime and has said her first favorite anime was Inuyasha.[3] She likes spicy food, and also enjoys eating "floating things". While backstage, she likes to go and hunt for snacks.[4][5] Although Rui is modeled after her appearance-wise, the two have opposing personalities.
Ayasa also owns a cat named Doya, and has a whole Instagram account dedicated for it.
