Zulu (ズール, Zūru) is a fictional character from anime and manga series of Baki the Grappler. More of a beast than a man, he is a muscular fighter from Brazil that uses Vale Tudo.
Personality
He is a wild fighter who is extremely relentless. Zulu seems to have no mercy for his opponents. He's probably not able to feel any feelings that are typical for a civilized and empathic human. He attacks his enemies until they are completely destroyed, and is completely absorbed by his murderous instincts. Nothing is out of bounds for Zulu, including ambushing and attacking an opponent even after he has been declared the winner.
Zulu resembles more an animal than a normal human being in his behaviour. He probably never functioned in a civilized society and spent his whole life in some wild tribe. It seems that he has not even developed the ability to speak any language.
Despite this, Zulu showed fear during his fight against Baki Hanma where Zulu was afraid of the young fighter's strong way of being. According to Mitsunari Tokugawa, Zulu is a good husband who always brings food for his family (this information appears only in the manga).
Appearance
He is a very muscular man with a tanned body color, blue eyes and short yellow hair. In all his appearances, he wears a yellow bikini briefs.
History
He is the descendant of muscular Africans who were taken as slaves to Brazil. He was invited to the Underground Arena as one of the 36 fighters of the Maximum Tournament.
Abilities
Being one of the 36 fighters in the Maximum Tournament and being the only Vale Tudo fighter of the tournament, it can be assumed that Zulu is very strong. During his fights he usually uses dirty techniques, such as biting or throwing his blood into the opponent's eyes. Likewise, he also shown to be capable of using some standard fighting techniques, such as backdrops or the mount position skill. He has a lot of physical strength, being able to knock out Baki and Dentoranee Sitpika with just a few punches.
