January
- With the Earth supply embargo in its second month, food and supplies become increasingly scarce on the Mars Colony resulting in an open riot. Earthforce is subsequently brought in and goes about brutally putting down the riots. Among the Earthforce officers is Commander John Sheridan who at one point becomes separated from his unit and unexpectedly rescues fellow officer and old Academy acquaintance Jeffrey Sinclair from a group of rioters.[1][2]
April
- The Martian Food Riots are finally put down by Earthforce and EarthGov imposes a Mars Provisional Government answerable directly to Earthdome.[1]
- Thursday April 3, 2251
- At 00:05 EST the death of personality via mindwipe is carried out on Charles Dexter, a notorious serial killer known as the "Black Rose Killer" on Earth Colony 3 in the Orion System.[3] At the facility where his mindwipe occurs, there is a fire and he is presumed killed. He survives and eventually becomes Brother Edward.
