Yvaga III, designated Y–13, was a fully terraformed celestial object located in the Yvaga System. In 2142, the world was the intended destination of scavenger Rain Carradine and her friends from Jackson's Star. It was one of few locales unaffiliated with the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, and resultantly did not grant residence to synthetics.
Yvaga III was nine years' travel time from LV-410.
According to Kay Harrison, Yvaga III had the most incredible sunsets.
Behind the scenes
Yvaga III is mentioned in Alien: Romulus. It is glimpsed in a dream sequence by Rain Carradine, but the planet itself is not directly depicted.
Fede Álvarez has hinted that Yvaga III is not the bountiful world it's implied to be in the film. After work on Romulus concluded, he and other staff started discussing what would happen when or if Rain and Andy made it to the planet. In an interview, he stated, "Is it [Yvaga] going to be great? Or is it a terrible place? We tend to believe it’s probably a terrible place that they think is great and fantasize about, so we naturally started thinking about where it goes and what’s going to happen. And then, a few minutes in, we go, Oh, that sounds like a sequel."[1]
