Ward was a Weyland-Yutani Corporation employee and a spacecraft crewmember.
Biography
Ward served aboard the colonial transport Borrowdale.
Xenomorph outbreak
She was aboard the ship when it was overcome by a Xenomorph outbreak. Ward managed to escape within the ship's escape shuttle, alongside three other survivors, Albrecht, Nass and Mills, the latter two unconscious. Nass woke up in a panic, but Ward managed to calm him down, though he remained hostile towards Albrecht, a scientist.
Albrecht inadvertently admitted that she set the Borrowdale to self-destruct to quell the outbreak. Nass suddenly suspected Mills of being contaminated, and drew a knife, intending to kill him. Though Ward tried to stop him, he grabbed her by the throat and threw her aside, before suddenly convulsing. Ward rushed to his aid, whilst Albrecht slowly left the shuttle and sealed the hatch as a Chestburster erupted from Nass. Though Ward ordered Albrecht to open the hatch, she refused, trapping her. However, an impact on the shuttle's outer hull caused her to stumble and accidentally release the hatch. Ward overheard a radio transmission that revealed the source of the sudden jolt — the shuttle was being brought in for docking by another vessel. With the chestburster scurrying around beneath the seats in the shuttle, Ward climbed across to the door and escaped into the corridor before it attacked and mauled Albrecht.
Reaching the shuttle's outer hatch, Ward found herself with nowhere to go. Glancing back at the Chestburster tearing into Albrecht, she resignedly scrawls "DO NOT OPEN" on the window in blood as the shuttle is brought aboard by the rescue vessel. Her fate remains unknown.[1]
