Vurfur

"Suck vurfur balls, Roots."
Danny McGowan to Eddie Rutiani (from Alien: Enemy of My Enemy)

The vurfur was a large deer-like mammal native to the moon of BG-791. They were highly vicious and would attack humans. The species was rendered extinct when BG-791 collided with its planet, Hephaestus, in 2187.

Description

Vurfurs were deer-like animals native to the moon of BG-791. Vurfurs possessed antlers, sharp teeth, and hooves; they would use the latter to pummel the ground. Vurfurs also emitted a deep, warbling growl, and featured an item of anatomy termed "balls"; these formed part of an insult used among members of the United States Colonial Marine Corps posted on BG-791 in which an individual would be exhorted to suck them. Two such Marines involved in one notable exchange of this insult in 2187 were Privates Danny McGowan and Eddie "Roots" Rutiani. Vurfur meat was considered inedible by humans. Vurfurs were highly aggressive, and were considered "ornery" by the Marines; Lance Corporal Kenny Elkins sustained a bite wound to his arm during one encounter. Vurfur movements were useful for predicting storm outbreaks on BG-791, as they would leave an area if the weather was about to change. Following a Xenomorph outbreak at the Menhit Biowarfare Science Facility on the moon, at least one vurfur was infected and produced a hybrid creature. The remaining vurfurs on BG-791 sensed their extinction as the moon was pulled into its host planet Hephaestus, with their bodies littering the surface of the moon by the time the remaining human survivors were able to evacuate.
