- "But Tirgu-Mires is a barren planet. A lifeless chunk of volcanic rock."
- ―Dr. Natasha Pho (from Aliens: Once in a Lifetime)
Tirgu-Mires was an agricultural colony world orbiting the star GL1401B approximately 40.75 light years Trailward from Earth.[1]
History
Long before its settlement by humans, an Engineer ship crashed on Tirgu-Mires and unleashed a horde of Xenomorphs into the local ecology.[2]
Some time after this, the scientific institute Geholgod acquired the planet and sent Drs. Natasha Plo and Kira Nix to study and evaluate a secluded hive of Xenomorphs.[3] At some point, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation dug several tunnels to a cavern that housed the long-buried Engineer ship; these tunnels were eventually abandoned and a sickly, pale Xenomorph took up residence there.
An agricultural colony was later settled on Tirgu-Mires and, four generations into its establishment, teenagers explored the abandoned cave for a bet and were pursued by the Xenomorph, which they dubbed the Wraith. The Wraith was eventually killed by a United States Colonial Marine Corps squad, while a second Marine squad investigated the Engineer ship.[2]
Flora and fauna
Plant life in the vicinity of Well's Church was resistant to acidic blood after eons of coexistence with Xenomorphs.[3] Tirgu-Mires also hosted regular forest vegetation and fields.[2]
Climate and terrain
Tirgu-Mires' atmosphere was breathable for humans.[3][2] The planet featured forest, fields for agriculture, desert,[2] and sizeable rocky knolls.[3]
Points of interest
The main POIs of the planet are the main colony which is the heart of the planet, the "Infamous Cave" a former Weyland-Yutani abandoned excavation where the Wraith lay his lair that lead to a long buried Engineer ship[2] and Well's Church, an oasis where Xenomorphs lived unexposed to human presence.
