Temple Guards[1] are a unique Yautja caste and one of the rare non-hunting roles. They are also called Guardians or Defenders.
Overview
Temple Guards are Yautja that act as personal escorts to a Clan Leader. They are personally chosen based on their loyalty and battle prowess and tasked with their leiges' safety. To this end, a Temple Guard is in constant company of a Clan Leader and must give up the Hunt, becoming a soldier instead; they may be a part of the Military Caste of hunters.
A Temple Guard protects the Clan Leader from assassination attempts and may even accompany him off-world. They also play a role in preventing wars between clans, meaning they may have skills in inter-clan diplomacy. When encountering alien civilizations, particular ones Yautjas have sway over, Temple Guards are tasked with keeping order. They will put themselves between the Clan Leader and dangerous game if need be.
