Paul Reiser (born March 30, 1956)[1] is an American actor, comedian, television personality, writer, author and musician who played Burke in the 1986 film Aliens. Other notable films Reiser has appeared in include Beverly Hills Cop (1984), Bye Bye Love (1995), The Thing About My Folks (2005), Behind the Candelabra (2013), Whiplash (2014) and Concussion (2015). Aside from his work in film, Reiser has had an extensive career in television. He is perhaps best known for his starring role as Paul Buchman in the sitcom series Mad About You (1992–1999). He has recently appeared in a recurring role on the Netflix tv series Stranger Things as Dr. Sam Owens.
Reiser has been nominated for four Golden Globes and six Emmys. He was also ranked 77th on Comedy Central's 2004 list of the "100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time".[2]
