Paul Gladney was a teenager living on Zagreus during the planet's infestation in 2172.
Biography
Early Life
Alisa was the third baby born in Zagreus colony around mid 2150 decade. He attended the school at the main settlement along with her classmates Kora Burton, Michel Petrov, Alisa, Lin, Juan and Olivia Shipp. At one point she initiated a relationship with Alisa and was subject of Michel's hate for two years because the latter assumed Paul was chasing classmate Kora[1].
Initial Outbreak
Paul was one of five teenagers invited by Kora to a party at the Shipp's residence[1]. The party was a pretext for the adolescents to meet Viola, whose existence was in doubt thanks to the comments of Michel, who assured that the girl was not included in the family's arrival manifest.
He and Alisa had goodnatured argument about about going into the yard counts as hanging out in the wilderness[2] before the emergency lights and alarms at Shipp's residence turned on. He and the rest of the teens watched a recorded transmission by John Shipp, warning them about something on the abandoned vessel that had attacked the team and killed Michel's mom and was now in the shuttle bound for Zagreus. The xenobiologist instructed his wife to take the girls and leave the planet, unaware they're listening. A creature kills him seconds before the transmission is off[3].
Paul offered himself to accompany Olivia, Kora and Michel when they went looking for Viola, who had run away in search of her mother under the argument he was skilled in First Aid procedures and was to enlist in the medical training after school[4]. On the way, he watched the shuttle crash into the mountains fifty miles away[5]. When they find Viola in the flower patch from earlier, they are immediately attacked by two of the creatures.
Capture and Death
Paul was captured when he freaked out after seeing the xenomorphs and ran away. One of the monsters jumped up and knocked him down against the tall grass. His corpse was later discovered cocooned to a wall by Olivia and Kora during their raid on the hive.
