New York City, often referred to simply as New York and nicknamed The Big Apple, is a large city in the state of New York, located on the East coast of the United States of America that consists of five boroughs-the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island. It is the most populous city in the United States. Home to the headquarters of the United Nations, New York is also an important center for international diplomacy.
History
In 1989, New York City was considered an urban war zone; conflicts between local gangs and police reached unprecedented levels of violence. Several Predators also arrived in New York City in 1989, as well.
Deneen, a researcher employed at the Weyland-Yutani Corporation's Pala Station outpost on LV-895, harboured a particular interest in New York City. To this end, Deneen named areas at the base after New York landmarks such as Broadway and Grand Central.
Trivia
- Predator 2 was originally going to be set in New York City, but was moved to Los Angeles to make filming both easier and cheaper. The scene where the City Hunter scales the Eastern Columbia Building was originally intended to use the Chrysler Building in New York.[1]
