The Lou-dte kalei ("child maker")[1] was an automated seeding pod used by the Yautja species for dispersing acquired Xenomorph eggs across a planet in preparation for a hunt.
Overview
The Lou-dte kalei was a large tracked, pilotless vehicle. The mechanism was heavily armored, built to withstand the harshness of practically any planetary environment. Using its mechanized claws, the machine was also able to scour most surfaces. The design was inspired by an insectoid predator from the planet of 'Thän'.[2]
'Lou-dte kalei' was actually an unofficial name, derived from a derogatory term used to describe female Yautja, though most males were more than wise enough to consider using it in their presence.[3]
