Lemeth Hold

Lemeth Hold was one of many ancient fortresses across the vast landscape of Ataegina known for its main export, imbid flowers, and its strict laws regarding runners.

Overview

Location

Located on Lemeth Mountain, between Dakatera Hold to its west and Biseth Hold to its east, Lemeth Hold is situated just north of Lake Lanee, and south of the Northern Plains.

History

Well before the apocalyptic event known as the Rising, Lemeth Hold had once been part of King Paul's Crown of War; a series of fortresses carved into the mountains where, legend has it, King Paul the Unifier garrisoned troops to march down the mountains and attack any lowland cities that might rebel against his rule. When King Paul died, the fortress had been largely abandoned and left unused for a century.

Due to a continent-wide Xenomorph infestation, Ataegina was reduced to a pre-industrialized state, disrupting communications and trade between settlements. That's why survivors adopted the courier -or runner- as the main mean of trade and communication.

Culture

Due to the hot climate, men wore simple pants and no shoes inside the hold, while the women wore simple shirts. Most of the jewlery consist on hairpins and combs made from vootervert claws, copper, iron and bronze necklaces and copper nose rings. Both, men and women had heavy line tattoos on their arms, symbolizing the number of runs they had completed. The strict law required everyone aged from sixteen to thirty years to contribute, under death penalty for refusing to do so. Men are obliged to complete five runs -a slash, while women must complete ten -double slash. Everyone has to do Phalax training when not working, the training is organized in two shifts. The Hold is lead by a council of five elders, but the final decisions fall under the Margrave.
