L. Taplow[1] was a mercenary and mechanic who was hired by Weyland Corp to provide security and maintain the crew's EVA suits[1] aboard the USCSS Prometheus during its expedition to LV-223 in 2093.
History
Prometheus expedition
Taplow was hired by Weyland Corp to provide security aboard the USCSS Prometheus during its voyage to the distant moon LV-223. After spending two years in stasis, Taplow along with the other crew members were awakened. When the Prometheus was nearly at LV-223, Vickers, Shaw and Holloway briefed the crew on their mission to find the Engineers.
Fifield's rampage
Taplow along with fellow mercenaries Jackson, Furdik and Sheppard were in the ship's hangar when a mechanic discovered Fifield's (whom the crew had lost in the Temple earlier) outside the hangar door. When the mechanic opened the door and walked over to investigate, Fifield (who was infected by the black liquid) brutally murdered him before running rampant inside the hangar.
In the ensuing chaos, Taplow tried to kill the mutated Fifield by burning him with a flamethrower, but he managed to escape by climbing on to the roof of the RT Series Group Transport. Fifield then leaped on Taplow from above and smashed his helmet in, killing him.
