Cockroaches are insects of the order Blattodea, the same as termites. They are found on Fiorina "Fury" 161 and Earth, accidentally imported by humans to the former. There are around 4,600 species of cockroach known on Earth.
Characteristics
Cockroaches range from less than one centimeter to 5 inches long. Their powerful exoskeleton, coupled with a unique ability to withstand even nuclear radiation, makes them extremely resilient organisms. They feed on anything from carrion, fungi, and plants to even human waste such as glue and discarded paper.
Early colonization efforts on Mars were complicated by the presence of cockroaches in food stores. Weyland-Yutani's facility on Fiorina 161 was infested with cockroaches due to the small custodial staff's limited ability to keep the massive complex clean.
