Carbon Rites is a 2022 short story written by Jess Landry, published by Titan Books as part of the anthology Aliens vs. Predators: Ultimate Prey.
Trivia
- The short story is one of few stories in the franchise to be set in the advanced time period of Alien Resurrection. Other examples include the comics Alien vs. Predator: Thrill of the Hunt and Alien vs. Predator: Civilized Beasts, and the non-canon crossover comic Aliens versus Predator versus The Terminator, and the novels Aliens: Original Sin and Alien: Sea of Sorrows.
- In Carbon Rites, the USM placed humans and synthetics together in simulations based on locations from previously documented extraterrestrial encounters[1] such as LV-223 from the film Prometheus, the South China Sea from the novel Predator: South China Sea, DS 949 from the comic Aliens: Berserker, and Sevastopol from the video game Alien: Isolation.
