Canada is a country in North America. Composed of ten provinces and three territories covering the northern half of North America, it is the world's second largest country by total area. It shares two separate land borders with the United States of America — to the south (the world's longest binational land border) and to the west, with the American state of Alaska. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The capital city is Ottawa, located in the south-east of the country.
