- The crew of the Nostromo land on LV-426 and find the signal is coming from a derelict ship.
- One of the crew members, Thomas Kane is attacked by a Facehugger.
- The crew of the Nostromo are killed one by one by the lone Xenomorph until Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley is the sole survivor.
- The Nostromo's self destruct system is activated, destroying the ship, and the creature is presumably killed by Ripley aboard the shuttle Narcissus; she enters hypersleep for an unexpected 57 years.
