Revik

Airbender

Revik was an Air Nomad adventurer who had taken many different careers, while seeking a place to stay and belong during the early 3rd century BG. After migrating to Jasmine Island, his wish was fulfilled and he joined island's protectors. Revik subsequently helped to defend his new home from a major raid by Fifth Nation pirates.

History

Despite having strong ties to his family among the Air Nomads and often returning to his birth place, Revik was always seeking new experiences, professions, and discoveries. He roamed the world,[1] trying vastly different lifestyles beyond the traditional Air Nomad monastic ways. At one point, he even temporarily joined an army. In reality, however, he ultimately sought approval and love in his many adventures. At one point, Revik arrived on Jasmine Island, a small state with a tightly-knit yet open-minded population.[2] The place seemed to fit his way of life well, and thus the adventurer began to treat the location as his new base of operations.[1][2] At one point, he decided to become part of the island's protectors.[1]

Revik took part in a formal tea ceremony in an temple at Jasmine Island's coast, where he and four others —Ara, Joh, Fu Karaq, Yarru— had gathered with the protectors' leader Chidaw and an elderly talekeeper named Siarruk. In this ceremony, they officially joined the protectors.[3] Later that day, the five new protectors opted to celebrate their new status together, and took a small fishing boat on a joyride. Eventually, they spotted a large warship approaching Jasmine Island, followed by a smaller vessel. To the group's shock, the large ship was manned by Fifth Nation corsairs under Tagaka, while the smaller ship was attacking them under the leadership of famous Fire National Hei-Ran. After making contact with the latter, Revik and his comrades hurried back to Jasmine Island to warn the locals of the upcoming pirate raid.[4]

The group and the other protectors subsequently fended off a first landing led by a pirate scout force under Erchtei.[4] After this small victory, the protectors tried to coordinate their next action with Hei-Ran's Fire Nationals who revealed that they were seeking to rescue kidnapped inventor Tei Eesoni from the pirates. Together, the local fighters and Hei-Ran worked out a plan to defeat the next pirate attack as well as save Tei.[5] Indeed, Revik and his comrades fought hard in the subsequent battle, even battling Tagaka herself and helping to defeat Erchtei,[6] though both managed to escape.[7] The group also discovered that another protector, Mirlon, had defected to the Fifth Nation and assisted the raid. They confronted the turncoat.[6][8]

Revik and his comrades subsequently helped to decide what the Jasmine Islanders should do with the pirates captured during the failed raid. They also tried to mediate in an unexpected dispute between Hei-Ran and the rescued Tei Eesoni.[9]

Personality

On the outside, Revik had a "try everything once" attitude and thus took many different jobs as well as living in various regions of the world for only a short time. Constantly seeking new experiences, he also attempted to always look good amid his exploits, appearing brave, enthusiastic, and self-confident. Yet Revik was actually quite insecure, seeking a place to belong while accommodating his adventurous instincts; when he realized that Jasmine Island suited his conflicting tendencies, this contributed to his decision to stay.[2]

Abilities

Revik was an airbender who preferred to use air-wheels in combat. He was also a creative mind, good at working out plans as well as at teamwork.[2]
