Razor Reef

Neutral

Razor Reef is a reef in the southern Mo Ce Sea, off the soutwestern coast of the Earth Kingdom. The reef's main island once housed the renowned Master Tidao, but the residence was later abandoned. People from different nations traveled to the reef in search of valuable artifacts.[1]

History

At some point during the Hundred Year War, the reef became the home of Tidao, a legendary master of martial arts. Disillusioned with the war and the world, he decided to hide all records of his combat arts at a secret retreat in order to ensure that they were not misused by "insatiable tyrants".

By 99 AG, the residence had become abandoned. An archeologist named Wen, hoping to study the secrets of Master Tidao, traveled to Razor Reef, where they were joined in their research by a group of adventurers. During that time, the reef was raided by various hostile crews. Captain Kiwaq and her pirates intended to sell Tidao's old scrolls for profit. Fire Army troops led by Masaru resented Tidao for humiliating their nation and wanted to destroy his legacy, including anyone affiliated with the master. An Earth Kingdom expedition led by Boqin was on a mission to retrieve the valuable texts, but Wen argued against one nation keeping all the knowledge to itself. All raiders were confronted and ultimately defeated by the adventurers and had to leave without achieving their goals.

After the raids, the reef was also visited by a group of Kyoshi Warriors led by Suki. Unlike the previous visitors, these newcomers were friendly and had come in the hopes of finding Tidao for training purposes. Even though the Kyoshi Warriors were disappointed that the master had disappeared, they bonded with Wen and the adventurers over their shared interest in Master Tidao's legacy, and engaged in a friendly spar. The two groups thus parted on good terms when the Kyoshi Warriors eventually left Razor Reef to continue their journey.[1]

Description

The reef consists of several islands covered in jagged rocks, with a large island in the middle and several small islets around it. Nestled between the rocks on the main island was Master Tidao's house. The island's beach has a small pier at which arriving ships could dock.[1]

The reef was mentioned to have a number of good training spots, and a rare albatross could be found nesting here.[2]

Trivia

  • The name of Master Tidao, who once lived on the reef, means "razor" (剃刀) in Chinese.
