Junyi was a wandering outlaw who lived during the corrupt regime of Earth King Jialun. Almost no one knew of his true identity, and he was remembered as the folk hero Langzi, who looked to stamp out corruption at any cost.[1]
History
Junyi was a swordsmith who fell in love with one of his clients, a man who was married to a woman who was the mayor of the town. The feeling was mutual and the two men were set to run away together, but their affair was discovered by the mayor. She had her husband killed and pinned the crime on Junyi, manipulating the system so he had no way to prove his innocence.
Since then, he was on the run, posing as a lowly beggar in various towns to uncover corrupt people in power and bring them to justice under the identity of Langzi. Others said that Langzi was a master warrior who could wield any weapon. No one knew who they were or what they looked like, as Junyi always kept his face covered in a mask, but people knew that Langzi's focus was always taking down corrupt politicians who exploited the common folk. Langzi eventually rose to the top of the Dai Li's most wanted list.[1]

Trivia
- Junyi's character likely refers to Yan Qing, a fictional character in Water Margin, one of the Four Great Classical Novels in Chinese literature. Yan Qing is raised by the wealthy squire Lu Junyi, and is known as Langzi, meaning "the Wanderer" or "the Prodigal". He later becomes an outlaw.
