Ikru was an inventor from the Earth Kingdom who attended the Four Nations Summit & Technological Symposium, though his delegation was tasked with a secondary mission to spy for the Earth Kingdom.[2]
History
Ikru was voted by fellow delegates as the Earth Kingdom's first choice to represent them at the Four Nations Summit & Technological Symposium in Hari Bulkan, being highly charismatic and a great inventor. He grew annoyed with Minister Khuchtei of the Fire Nation, and believed that she was there to push the Fire Nation's agenda, regardless of whether the science agreed with her. To him, pushing national interests into the sciences was a crime against academics.[1] While Ikru was truly dedicated to science, his fellow Earth Kingdom delegates remained politically oriented and were aware of the larger stakes of the summit, wanting to glean whatever secrets they could to both advance their learning and to benefit their home nation. Meanwhile, the Earth Kingdom soldiers who came with him often spent more time suspecting an offensive move from the other delegations rather than protecting Ikru.[3]
Ikru was housed at Tako Dormitory with the other delegates when he arrived in Hari Bulkan. He kept a pile of notebooks in his room that mostly contained ten to twenty seemingly random pages filled with stream of consciousness notes, though in fact contained hidden messages. He often took meals in the cafeteria on the first floor, avoiding Minister Khuchtei and offering games of Pai Sho and tea to everyone else.[4] When crates of rare and precious meteorite metal were stolen, Ikru came to be regarded as a potential suspect.[5]
