Ben Ta

Earthbender 

Ben Ta was the leader of a group of Earth Kingdom rebels during the Hundred Year War known as the Armadillo Bears.[1]

History

Ben Ta's small Earth Kingdom village was taken over by the forces of General Onomu of the Fire Nation. Shortly after, Ben Ta's mother passed away, and Ben Ta directly linked her mother's death to Onomu's soldiers seizing food and medical supplies for the war effort.[1] Since that moment, she hated the Fire Nation with abandon.[2]

She later became the leader of a rebel group known as the Armadillo Bears. Ben Ta wanted to genuinely do the right thing, and her band of rebels did help people, but she was overzealous in her approach to the Fire Nation.[2] She got word that General Onomu had been spotted nearby after she was due to be escorted to Ba Sing Se by a group of people working for the Earth Kingdom government, after the general planned to defect from the Fire Nation. Ben Ta led the Armadillo Bears on a mission to hunt Onomu down and kill her, planning to track the party escorting her from West Heiatu to Ba Sing Se.[1]

Personality

As leader of the Armadillo Bears, Ben Ta was charismatic and passionate. Once, Ben Ta was ignorant, caring, and warm, but she completely changed after the Fire Nation invaded her home.[2] Ben Ta was totally unbalanced when it came to the Fire Nation, and she saw the world in black and white.[1] She sometimes felt longing for the woman she once was before the Fire Nation invaded, but she then remembered what the Fire Nation was doing to her home, and thoughts of vengeance buried the longing that she had. She was angry, protective, imbalanced, and driven by revenge, though she could change her mind on some matters when it came to the Fire Nation if presented with strong evidence that someone was trying to change.[1][2] This aggression combined with her innate magnetism made her a dangerous leader that people couldn't help but follow.[2]

Abilities

Ben Ta was a master earthbender. She could use earthbending to launch herself into the air, and could inflict damage to others by crashing down with earthbending from large heights.[2]
