- This article is about the stunt professional. For the Jasmine Islander, see Aiko (Jasmine Islander).
Aiko was a stunt professional employed by Varrimovers International. She developed airbending abilities following the Harmonic Convergence of 171 AG, which caused her to use her bending to act as an assistant to "stuntmaster" Breeze — who claims to be the actual airbender.[1]
History
Aiko worked as a member of the stunt crew at Varrimovers International. She loved working on the one or two movers she had experience with, until she caused an accident upon discovering her new airbending abilities. She was incredibly grateful that her coworker, Rai Feng, took credit for the accident. However, he turned it into an entire new brand, with Aiko being a part of it. He rebranded himself as "Breeze", a legendary "stuntmaster" with a brand new airbending technique, while Aiko was actually performing the stunts.[2]
Aiko never wanted to be an airbender, as she loved the mover industry too much. She was scared of being discovered by anyone, as she believed that she would be forced to join the Air Nation — which in turn would mean that she would have new duties and obligations that would carry her away from the industry she loved.[1][2] However, Aiko had only managed to obtain a tenuous grasp on her bending, and she still caused accidents periodically when she got spooked or startled. The situation threatened to spiral out of control with the stunt team working on the production of Sengo: Lady of the Winds, which had an airbender protagonist, meaning that filming relied on Aiko's bending.[2] During the production of the mover, Aiko stayed at the Sleeping Sloth-Mouse, an hotel close to the studio.[3]
Due to the security issues on set, a new security team arrived: Erdene, Qacha, Thi, Meeka, and Dae.[4] The new security arrived on set just as a tremor caused a disaster during filming that risked actors Xue and Quin Yu being hurt. After the shaking subsided, Aiko started to disappear into the background behind Breeze, while he complained to the other stunt performers on set for their subpar work.[5]
Personality
Aiko was someone who can easily get scared or worried, especially when it came to her airbending being discovered. She was desperate not to leave the mover industry, as she loved her job in the stunt crew.[2][1]
Abilities
Having not trained with anyone at all, Aiko had only a tenuous grasp on her airbending, and often causes accidents. However, she was still skilled enough to cover Breeze's stunts with her own bending, and could also cast an arc of pressurized air to knock away incoming attacks and throw enemies off-balance.[2][1]
