Falk (ファルク Faruku?), birth name Claude (クロード Kuroodo?), is a playable character in Tales of Luminaria. He is a soldier in Gildllan Imperial Army that aims to rank up.
History
Claude is born on August 22, 982 Y.C., somewhere in the Odrgard Peakdom. Seven years later, he is taken in by Alza Children's Home, where he is acquainted with the clumsily lucky Amelie Laurence. In 991 Y.C. Claude meets Joyce. Falk and Joyce spend their childhood stealing from the slums, and three years later, form the mercenary duo, the Ghost Squadron, where Claude changes his name to Falk, a play on the word "falcon".
In 997 Y.C., Joyce is mortally injured by a Grelfeldher at the Mt. Tor, which Falk quickly kills but Joyce soon dies, succumbing to his wounds. Soon after, Falk becomes a lone mercenary until coming under the employ of Colonel Clay of the Gildllan Imperial Army, where he comes across chancellor August Wallenstein and Alpha Alexandra von Sonne. After seeing him survive a campaign in which proved fatal to all the other mercenaries, August invites him into the military. After some thinking, Falk accepts. Through his hard work, he climbs his way up the ladder, earning the rank of master sergeant in the same year. During this time, his exploits against the Federation earns him nicknames such as "Falk the Tyrant" (「暴君」ファルク Bookun Faruku?) or the "Blond Reaper" (金髪の死神 Kinpatsu no Shinigami?), much to his chagrin for the latter.
In 998 Y.C., Falk comes across Amelie, where he discovers, to his shock and horror, that Amelie is second lieutenant. After the two protected a passenger ship from a beast assault, Falk is appointed as vice-captain of special ops Team Laurence, much to his frustration.
In 999 Y.C. Falk attempts to menace Hugo Simon into a fight, a former Federation soldier who recently turned coat, and was quickly integrated into Team Laurence upon August's requests, only to be told off by Amelie. Afterward, the three raided a Federation base. Due to his efforts, Hugo eventually earns Falk's respect.
Later on, Falk makes a lone charge at Jerle Federation's bases in Radmir Forest, much to Amelie's worry. Later, Falk, Amelie, and Hugo Simon are briefed at Fort Lastack about their next assignment: rescuing Lieutenant General Dantric in the Fort City of Lunne. With Amelie's constant attempts to getting Falk closer with her and Hugo, Falk's resentment towards them grows stronger. He decides to unwind and drink some alcohol at the imperial base, but hearing an imperial soldier taking all of Falk's achievements, he got that day make the man angry and a fight ensues. Falk wins and Hugo steps in, reminding him of his place within the army and orders from Amelie. Once again a fight breaks out, with Falk claiming victory over Hugo. The next day, Team Laurence departs for Lunne, traveling via the Dilanbre Fields. After claiming another Federation base, Falk rushes onward, leaving the worn out Amelie and Hugo behind. He eventually comes across Bastien Forge, the Black Wolf, and together take down several more Federation bases. Finally arriving at Lunne, Bastien leaves Falk for his own mission, while Falk regroups with Amelie and Hugo. Falk and Amelie go to the city, as Hugo cannot because of his betrayal, and the two pose as a newlywed couple, a result of passes from Hugo. Inside the city, Amelie informs Falk that the lieutenant general is held in Hotel Blumille and the man uses this occasion to push her help away, deciding to scale the hotel's walls and conduct the search his own way rather than follow Amelie's plan and getting friendly with hotel staff. Eventually, Falk fails to maintain his cover and causes high alert in the hotel. Despite his blunder, the two are able to rescue Dantric and escape.
Appearance and Personality
Falk has green eyes and short black hair. As a young child, he wore a black hoodie with yellow lines, a black shirt and baggy pants and a pair of grey shoes.
As an adult, Falk has the tips of his hair dyed khaki-blonde. In his soldier attire, he wears a tight black shirt and pants, and black boots with yellow soles, and white toe caps. He also has a necklace attacked to a small wing, and a white jacket with a falcon emblem on the back, black sleeves, and a white hood that has yellow furry, roll lines, and yellow lines, including a yellow Reactor in the falcon's chest.
Falk is a short-tempered man, who prefers to work alone. He looks down on people he considers too weak to pull their own weight, including Team Laurence's captain, Amelie, but treats the Alphas with great respect due to their superior strength and fame. He is a hard worker who prefers action and does not tolerate weakness. Because of all that, it makes difficult, if not impossible, for people to get close with him.
Fighting Style
Falk fights using twin blades with the hilts chained to his person by wires that protrude yellow electricity. When Attack button is tapped, he performs a series of four blade strikes. If the Attack button is held, it activates Blade Throw, in which he throws his blades forward on electric wires. Depending on the enemy different results are achieved. If the enemy can be defeated in a single throw, the blades will go through allowing to deal damage to enemies behind the target. If the enemy cannot be defeated with a single attack, Falk will either pull them closer if they are light-weighted and kick them, or will jump-pull towards his opponent if they are heavy or immobile and perform an overhead strike with his blades. When a Counter Icon is pressed, he dodges backwards and performs a rushing thrust with one of his blades, if another Icon is pressed, he performs a circular slash with both blades on electric wires.
