Dionis

Dionis (ディオニス Dionisu?) is the world in which Tales of Commons takes place.

History and Geography

Dionis is mostly comprised of two major countries, Jupiter (ユピテル Yupiteru?) and Yinfouyang (ユンファヤング Yunfayangu?).

Jupiter is a country known for the development of a metal named the Dragon Steel. Due to this, it has seen rapid growth. It is also known for being the strongest in weaponry and militant power, their elite force called the "Iron Dragon Knights" as well as being the ones producing artificial Gillfixies, dragon-like creatures that appear alongside a human's birth to serve as their companion.

Yinfouyang is known for its use of magic. The country is responsible for the developments of the Blue Magic Technique (蒼魔陣術 Soumajinjutsu?, "Blue Magic Formation Technique"). Its troops are the Blue Mages (蒼魔陣術士 Soumajinjutsushi?) whose powers come from uses of those techniques.

Other smaller settlements include places such as Oberon Town, Baharudra Village, a beach village, Shinobi Village, home of the ninjas, or Katz' Village, the only town in the Preghiera Snowfields Region and home of the Katz species.

There also exist other factions, such as the Xyance Special Forces and the Bloom Imperial Brigade, a group dedicated to finding the legendary Kaorin: a mirror comprised of the world's six elements that is said to grant a ritual able to change the world should all six of its parts be reunited.

20 years prior to the event of the game, a war erupted. A great war called The Third Dionis War lasted for 16 years, opposing the two countries against one another and causing great losses. A neutral town named Dis (ディス Disu?) was built on the border between the two countries. A side effect of this war was the total disappearance of natural Gilfixies. This prompted the government to create artificial replacements, Ezilfixies (エジルフィクシィ Ejirufikushi?). Zecaliath and Menosith (Alvin and Sefina's Gilfixies) were the first new ones to be born after the war.
