Timmy Ryan is a student at Smallville High School, a former member of the Smallville Crows and a friend of Sean Smith. He was kicked off the team after being caught using X-Kryptonite, a drug that temporarily increased his strength.
Biography
Return of the Kents
When Jordan Kent kissed Sarah, Sean's girlfriend, Timmy and his friends helped him to beat up Jordan and his brother Jonathan. Until the bonfire exploded, startling everyone.[1] When the Kents moved to Smallville, Timmy and his friends started bullying Jon at school, during his arrival and football practice.[2] The next day, Timmy saw Jordan watching Sarah and Sean and warned him not to. Then Jordan beat him in training.[3] After the football game, Timmy went to the party at Corey Wellnitz' lake house.[4] Timmy went to the Harvest Festival with his friends. They found Jonathan Kent and offered him a drink. They drunkenly made fun of Jordan and Sarah Cushing, and Sarah stormed off in disgust at their behavior.[5]
After winning the football game in Metropolis, Timmy was with the other players who invited the Kent brothers to party with them. He witnessed when Jimmy Cutter teased Jordan, before Jordan accidentally hurt Jonathan.[6] After Morgan Edge was exposed as a criminal, the DOD occupied Smallville. Later at school, Timmy, Sean Smith, Malcolm Teague and Corey Wellnitz try to get Jon to reveal what the DOD is still doing in Smallville, but to no avail.[7]
The Eradication
Later, Timmy's parents were away so he decided to throw a party with alcohol. He, Sean and Malcolm went to Sequoia to invite Jon Kent. At the party, they turned on the TV and saw that Morgan Edge was attacking Metropolis. When General Sam Lane arrived to pick up Jon and Jordan, Timmy asked what happened to Edge and Sam replied that he doesn't give confidential information to drunk teenagers.[8] During Edge's last attacks on Smallville, Timmy and the citizens tried to evacuate the town but eventually that ended when Superman and the Stranger defeated Edge.[9]
Using X-Kryptonite
The next year, Timmy purchased X-Kryptonite from Candice Pergande, a drug that temporarily increased his strength. Timmy managed to outdo himself in practice and ended up becoming the Crows' starting quarterback. During practice, Timmy was confronted by Jon who said he knew he was using drugs. Timmy admitted to using and claimed that Candice was his dealer, so they got; into a fight which was broken up by Clark and Coach Gaines.[10][11][12][13] Eventually, Timmy's mother caught him taking X-K and he was kicked off the team.[14]
Superman's identity revealed
Timmy witnesses Doomsday dump Superman's defeated body in Smallville near the Kent family.[15]
He later questioned Jonathan and Jordan Kent about them being Superman's sons, claiming that they destroyed his life when he was kicked off the Crows. Kyle Cushing eventually stopped the argument. Lois and Clark later went to his house to talk to his mother, trying to deny that Clark is Superman, making her believe that Timmy is still using drugs. Later, Timmy and his mother watched Clark's interview with Janet Olsen, where he reveals to the world that he is Superman.[16]

- X-Kryptonite enhancement: Ryan brought XK from Candice and would use it during football practices to augment his attributes similar to Kryptonians.
- Superhuman strength: During weight training, the X-K granted him increased strength capable of bench pressing 315 pounds with ease.
