Kenny Li (born 1990) is a friend of Kara and Alex Danvers. In the original multiverse, Kenny was a student at Midvale High School until he was killed by Sheriff Ronald Collins in an attempt to get rid of the evidence against him.
In the new multiverse, Kenny Li was never killed, and instead became Kara's boyfriend while they were students at Midvale High School.
Biography

Kenny Li attended Midvale High School, where he was considered an outcast by his peers, often ignored at best and ridiculed at worst. Kenny was bullied by the school star quarterback Jake Howell in particular, after catching the latter smoking pot on campus.
Kenny was fascinated with astronomy and would frequently sneak out to go to the woods stargazing at the sky through his telescope. He would store the images he digitally captured on his laptop.
Kenny was Kara Danvers' only friend in high school, as she was also considered an outcast. He also befriended Kara's adoptive sister, Alex Danvers, whom Kenny was secretly tutoring in calculus. However, out of embarrassment, Alex didn't acknowledge him in front of her other friends (which she would later regret). Kenny soon formed a crush on Kara and the two almost shared a kiss while stargazing in the woods.
Kenny also observed other people in the woods through his telescope. At some point, he caught Samuel Bernard, a history teacher at his school, having an affair with his classmate Josie. Concerned, he tried to talk to Josie but she brushed him off and warned him to stay out of it. Despite this, Kenny sent a copy of the telescope image to Mr. Bernard as a warning and was presumably going to report this.
Shortly after, Kenny caught sheriff Ronald Collins participating in a drug deal on his telescope. Collins subsequently shot and killed Kenny and stole his telescope in an attempt to get rid of the evidence against him. However, Kenny was able to hide his laptop before being murdered.[1]
New multiverse
In the revised history of Earth-Prime, Kenny never died and dated Kara during high school. He also assisted Kara with her vigilante activities, leading to Midvale being dubbed as the "America's Luckiest Town" due to the duo's discreet exploits. His father, however, had passed away.[2]
Kenny along with Kara planned to go to Midvale College after graduating from high school.[2]
On May 26, 2009, Kenny was eating dinner along with Kara and Alex. When Alex read a newspaper on how Midvale's crime was nonexistent and Kara commented on how the town was waiting for Alex to leave, he noted how Alex was "burned" by Kara. He later got up and went to grab some shakes for the group. When he returned, Kenny noticed that Kara was distracted; she had heard something with her super hearing.
The three went to the nearby baseball field where they found a crashed spaceship and two beings calling themselves "Brandon" and "Brenda" who said that they were stranded until they could get dysporium to fix their ship. Kenny watched as the aliens used their powers to hide their ship; Kara was impressed to have fellow aliens and asked "Brenda" to spend the night at her house; Kenny told "Brandon" that he could stay with him.
Kenny ran home and passed his mother in the kitchen, barely speaking; meanwhile, "Brandon" flew through the window to Kenny's room. Kenny showed "Brandon" where the computer was; "Brandon" reminded himself that he was in 2009. As they were discussing the new invention called the "3-D printer", Amy arrived with Kenny's food. To get rid of his mother, Kenny agreed to do her paperwork; after Amy left, "Brandon" came from hiding.[2]

Kara and Alex worked together for the first time to investigate Kenny's death. Kara initially interrogated Jake, who confessed that Kenny caught him smoking pot and was subsequently suspended. Kara and Alex later discovered Kenny's laptop buried in the woods and uncovered the picture he took of Mr. Bernard and Josie. Alex reported this to the authorities, causing Mr. Bernard to be sent to prison. After Kenny's files were decrypted by Clark Kent's friend Chloe, sheriff Collins' drug dealing was discovered. Collins tried to kill Alex as well to cover this up, but Kara saved her. Collins was then arrested, getting justice for Kenny's murder.
While Kenny's death was a tragedy, it ultimately brought Kara and Alex closer together. Kara also discovered from Chloe that Kenny had a picture of her flying on his laptop; he knew Kara was an alien all along, but kept it a secret and liked her anyway, much to her surprise and joy. Kara remembers Kenny as the first person she lost on Earth and a keeper of her secrets. Kenny's telescope was recovered and given to the Danvers sisters by his mother as a thank-you gift for solving the murder and has remained a keepsake in the Danvers house.[1]
Collins was released from prison 11 years later (after six failed attempts at parole) but remained haunted by his murder of Kenny; Ron was seen drinking at a sleazy speakeasy where an adult Alex found him. Apparently, that was how the former Midvale sheriff was now spending his days in the wake of his release.[3]
