Jonas (died 2166) was the son of the late "Rip Hunter" and the late "Miranda Coburn". He was named after his father's old friend, Jonah Hex.^[1]

Biography

Jonas was born to "Rip Hunter" and "Miranda Coburn" and raised in London, England.^[2]

Death

In 2166, Jonas and Miranda witnessed Vandal Savage's attack on their home. Jonas watched helplessly as his mother was killed by Savage's men. Savage asked for the boy's name and taunted how his mother's courage was only rivaled by his father's foolishness. Savage mockingly wondered which quality Jonas had. In response, Jonas defiantly spat in Savage's face and was promptly shot dead.^[2]

Legacy

The deaths of Jonas and Miranda were the catalyst for Rip to time travel back to 2016 and recruit 8 men and women who had a minimal effect on the timeline to help defeat Vandal Savage once and for all.^[2]

• Ray Palmer has speculated that Jonas was named after Jonah Hex.^[1]
• Despite being from London, England and born to British parents, Jonas spoke with a Canadian accent, his actor Keifer O'Reilly's natural accent.
