Morgan and Leslie in Smallville

Mayor Dean held a town meeting where Morgan Edge announced that he was bringing opportunity and jobs to Smallville.[2]

Days later, Mayor Dean had dinner with Morgan, Lana Lang Cushing and Kyle Cushing. He later had another town meeting granting Morgan access to the Shuster Mine.[3]

When Morgan Edge's true plans were revealed, everyone blamed the Cushing family for bringing them to Smallville. So George Dean told the Cushing family to calm down and that this would pass, but in fact he wanted them to leave like everyone else and blamed them for Edge's arrival, Lana heard this and stood up to him.[4] George Dean was also present for both Morgan Edge attacks on Smallville, but he survived.[5][6]

In the next election, George Dean was going to run against Daniel Hart, but he withdrew and Lana Lang Cushing ran in his place. George tried to defame the Cushing family to make them lose, but she won.[7][8][9][10]

After Lana used the money Dean had "set aside" when he was mayor to fix a serious mold infestation at Smallville High School, he confronted her at the Kent brothers' birthday party and told her to return the money. He was then kicked out by John Henry Irons, and told Lana that she didn't know what she was doing.[11]

Death

Dean called Lana while he was being attacked by an unknown individual. Before his attacker killed him, Dean told Lana something that led her to a thumb drive hidden behind the seal in the mayor's office.[1]
