Galileo Galilei is one of history's most prominent physicists who was one of the scientists kidnapped by the time traveler Martin Stein to assist him in discovering a way to divide the Firestorm Matrix, so that the Firestorm powers would be left with Jefferson Jackson alone.

Biography

Galileo uttered his famous statement moments after being forced to recant his theory that the Earth revolves around the sun: "And yet it moves." Galileo's peers viewed him as a "crackpot" for his theory.^[1]

Assisting Martin Stein

Trapped on the Waverider in 1967, Galileo and the other kidnapped scientists were forced to work for hours by Martin Stein, who desperately searched for a way to separate the Firestorm Matrix that would allow Jefferson Jackson to retain his Firestorm powers. Galileo joined Isaac Newton in his complaints to Stein about working nonstop and wondered when he'd be allowed to return home, feeling threatened by the circumstances. He received an unconditional reply from Stein. Galileo was later presumably brought back to his native time period after Stein concluded the proceedings.^[2]
