Clayface's mud

Clayface's mud is a sample of clay with unknown properties that has the ability to alter one into a shape-shifting clay monster.

History

At some point, Basil was infected with the mud and transformed into the villainous Clayface, allowing him to contort his body into virtually any shape he wanted. After being thwarted by Batman, the Dark Knight kept a sample of the mud secured in the Batcave.^[1]

In 2021, the mud was stolen by "Circe Sionis", among other items, on behalf of Roman Sionis and Safiyah Sohail.^[2] It was later thrown into the Gotham River when Alice and Kate fell there.^[3]

Eventually, Tanner Freyr, a Gotham City High School student, was exposed to the mud and became the second Clayface until he was later stopped by Batwoman and imprisoned in Arkham ASylum.^[1]
