- "He was the first Ra's al Ghul. According to legend, he was bestowed primordial knowledge by one of the sky gods."
- —Talia al Ghul[src]
Al-Fatih (Arabic: الفاتح for the Conqueror) was the founder of the League of Assassins and subsequently, the first Ra's al Ghul.
Biography
Before or around 1013[1], Al-Fatih was visited by Mar Novu, who bestowed upon him knowledge not previously possessed by man. Mar Novu heavily implied the need to keep the balance or else the "god" would bring about the end of times. Thus, Al-Fatih founded the League of Assassins, naming himself "Ra's al Ghul" as the leader of the group. Before his death, Al-Fatih wrote an encoded message in a scroll, The Chronicles of Al-Fatih, inside of which was enclosed a marble featuring a map leading to his eventual crypt. Al-Fatih eventually died, being buried within the tomb with his sword and a journal.[2]
Equipment
- Sword: Al-Fatih was known to carry a sword, which was later claimed by Thea Queen after a duel with Talia al Ghul.
