“When I was little, I used to be pretty mischievous with some of my guy friends...”
― Kyle, New Leaf
Kyle (リカルド, Rikarudo?, Ricardo) is a smug wolf villager who first appeared in New Leaf. His catchphrase, "alpha", could possibly be used by him to compliment the player, as alpha culturally means leader, which is also used to refer to the leading wolf of a pack (an "alpha wolf", now known as "breeding wolf"), reflecting his species. His English name might come from the Armenian word for "wolf".
He is featured on the cover of Café K.K. and he has the music hobby.

Appearance
Kyle is a gold and brown-black wolf with purple eyelids. He initially wears a Pleather Vest and has a white-tipped tail. His arms and legs are mottled between gold and black, and his head is mostly goldish with a stripe going down to his nose. Kyle's various markings suggest his design is based off of an African Wild Dog, as alluded to by his name, sounding somewhat similar to Lycaon (the genus of which this species is the sole member of). When it rains, he will initially carry the Busted Umbrella.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the smug personality. For more information, click here. |
Smug villagers are very polite, kind, and gentleman-like. As a smug villager, Kyle will get along easily with other villagers. Smug villagers get along well with most villagers, their personality appearing to be a mix of the other personality types. Smug villagers will stroke their egos from time to time, going on about how cool they are.
Generally, Kyle will get along with lazy, normal, snooty, and peppy villagers, and may conflict with cranky villagers.
House
Kyle keeps many instruments in his home, relating to how smug villagers often talk about music. Among these instruments are a drum set, an ebony piano and a rock guitar. He also displays audio equipment, such as an amp and an effects rack. Upon his Ringside Table is a Sleek Stereo that plays the song K.K. Adventure (K.K. Metal in New Horizons). Kyle's wallpaper and flooring are the Shanty Wall and the Steel Flooring respectively.
